What's Metadata? And Why Is It Important?
Metadata is descriptive information, also known as tags, that makes it easier to find and manage content. Metadata relevant to training and educational content includes title, author, description, keywords, document type, reading level, interactivity level, learning time, the language of the content, and more. Metadata can be used to identify content suited to a specific need and to sort search results.
Automated Metadata Generation Eduworks technologies automatically generate metadata for documents and learning content. Advanced versions can also be used to match education and training assets to lists of skills and objectives within the context of a particular training program or organization.
Once You Have Metadata…We can help your organization use the metadata in many ways. These include:
- Quickly finding out what's in a document on your hard drive
- Creating an inventory of all of the educational and training assets on a server, in a database, or across your enterprise
- Generating metadata for inclusion in a SCORM package or a metadata registry
