|
(Learning-Education-Training Systems Interoperability) An international non-profit federation dedicated to improving individual and organizational learning and performance.
LETSI is newly formed international federation resulting in part from increasing global adoption of SCORM standards. LETSI reflects an interest and desire by a broad range of constituencies for international standards, specifications and guidelines that support the use of technology to meet the world's ever growing demand for learning. LETSI seeks to accomplish this goal by bringing together diverse communities of practice across the global learning technology market. There is also interest in transferring the stewardship and further development of SCORM to an organization that is global in nature and that is not focused on a single community (e.g. the U.S. Department of Defense, corporate training, or K-12 & Higher Education) or use case (e.g. single learner Web-based training).
Eduworks personnel have been involved in shaping and implementing this vision, as both volunteers and consultants. Currently, Tyde Richards of Eduworks is engaged full time in supporting and facilitating LETSI with funding from the Advanced Distributed Learning initiative of the Department of Defense. |
