Robby Robson, Ph.D.

President and Founder

Throughout his career Dr. Robson has been an effective, forward-looking leader who has put together world-class teams and achieved results. He is an internationally recognized innovator in online learning whose career includes many firsts in diverse areas.

Robby started his career in mathematics where he held research posts in Germany, at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, and Oregon State University. Among his credits are a foundational result in semi-algebraic geometry, leading a team responsible for the first implementation of the number field sieve factoring algorithm (and a world factoring record) and starting one of the first and longest running research experiences for undergraduates programs.

Robby was among the first to recognize the potential of the web as an interactive learning medium. He began developing web-based learning content and learning management systems in 1995 and, in 2000 left Oregon State to join Saba Software, Inc. His responsibilities there included standards strategy, integrating OEM partners, and product management. He was elected chair of the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee in 2000, a position he held for 8 years, and co-founded Eduworks in 2001. At Eduworks he has served as president and CEO and has guided Eduworks’ research, services and product development.

Dr. Robson has a doctorate in mathematics from Stanford University.
